Big Body

Introduced at Agritechnica 2005, this new generation of ?Big Body? tippers was a tremendous success from its very beginning. Big Body is the successor to our classic range of body tippers in and features the familiar container type design.

The body features a totally redesigned and developed from innovative ideas and on our in-depth expertise and extensive experience in trailer manufacturing. The tremendous success of the new range has not come as a surprise, because our customers had a fair share in it. We listened to farmers and contractors, who shared their experience to create a new design and ultimately this innovative body. This offers a host of benefits, including curved sides and a particularly slim tailgate linkage on either side of the body as well as an 8cm increase in internal width over the predecessor model. The sides (4mm ST52 grade steel) and the floor are made from one piece. Turned on edge, the sheets offer maximum rigidity thanks to a minimum number of welds and cavities.

The pivot bearings are let in flush with the top frame, which is made from beefy 100x80mm section steel to provide for unobstructed loading. The endless bellyband transfers the load to the sturdy top frame, which is fully welded to eliminate any risk of corrosion.

With fewer stanchions required to provide the necessary strength, the design gains in stylish and light-weight appearance. The body is 1.52m high and the conical platform (tapering and 10cm narrower front end) provides for easier dumping. The enclosed base bearers are made from massive box section steel and are easy to clean. The entire underfloor is heavily ribbed and withstands heavy material and topsoil loading. An inspection window with cover plate is standard specification.

The hydraulic tailgate is a KRAMPE development and features a pressure accumulator at the bottom. The design has been adopted by many competitors and is standard specification on this body. A nitrogen accumulator maintains the locking pressure at a constant level. The tailgate operating rams are fully retracted when the gate is in transport position. The side mudguards are bolted at a steep angle to avoid material collecting here. We offer an extensive range of special options in addition to regular silage extensions.
